Congestion

The rarefaction of the activities, now concentrated in determined points, with the consequent abandonment of vast constructed areas, had as counterpoint a transit intensification, an increase of the carrier system occupation.

This liquefaction of the urban space, taken by traffic streams, arrived at the limit: the impossibility of circulating provokes a short circuit in the system, which enters in vertiginous process of entropy. A constant and irreversible dispersal of energy, translated in to a state of increasing disorder and indifferentiation.

A situation that allows drawing an extremized scene. A limit situation that demands other strategies. A reflection on the potentiality of spaces completely emptied of use and saturated to the traffic maximum.

Extreme mobility that leads to total immobilization. Or the opposite: entropy that allows thinking a more intense circulation and acceleration. The region appears as a space of fluxes, anticipating a liquid urbanism, that potentialize the volatile, mutant and interchangeable character of its situations.
