Global Spatialization

Which is the impact of the constitution of a global scale territory in the local spaces? We have to apprehend the expansion in scale of the contemporary metropolises restructuring, the process in which the urban space is inscribed in the dynamic geographic landscape of capital.

Capitalism develops through a diffuse and problematic spatialization process, operating through the differentiation of the occupied space, in many different scales. The result is a differently developed spatiality, with the conformation of centers and peripheries in all space scales.

The space matrix is constantly reconfigured, structuring landscapes each time larger. A complexity that obstructs our capacity to visualize the dynamics of the spatialization. In general, the spatiality alone is understood as objective measurable appearances, apprehended through sensorial perception.

But the geography of the contemporary urban reorganization, the scale of structural mutations and the complexity of the resultant flexible spatializations, escape completely to individuals apprehension and control. An urban geometry is produced that, given to its mutant pattern and global reach, is not anymore encompassed by the experience of the metropolis inhabitants.
