• Um Conceito de Infopoesia (28/04/2001)

O projeto de pesquisa tem por objetivo estudar a poesia-do-computador, ou seja, uma amostra das experiências da poesia feita com o computador, denominada de infopoesia, por E. M. de Melo e Castro, poeta experimental português. Uma teoria literária digital diferenciada, em que a palavra é que o leit motiv da produção digital, será o resultado deste estudo, juntamente com a apresentação de um percurso da poesia verbal, visual e digital.

This research project intends to study the poetry-of-the-computer, that is, the poetry that is created with the aid of a microcomputer, an infopoetry as the Portuguese experimental poet Melo e Castro has named his works with words and images since 70's. The study also intends to organize a general theory of a special kind of poetry, hypermedia poetry, as Christopher Funkhouser called it, a kind of poetry that is generally considered as digital poetics, that is, one that makes use of technology. We take digital poetics in a general sense, where the presence of words remain as the main certainty that the verbal and the visual have interacted to constituted an infopoetry.

Natural de Itu, Estado de São Paulo, é formado em Letras (Português e Inglês), especialista em Literatura, mestre em Comunicação e Semiótica pela PUC SP. Tem lecionado Literatura, Língua Inglesa e Redação em escolas de ensino médio e superior. Autor de "Almeida Júnior através dos tempos" (1983) e "Cores, forma, luz, movimento: o pictórico na poesia de Cesário Verde" (1999, dissertação de mestrado), tem se dedicado ao estudo da poesia verbal, visual e, atualmente, iniciou doutorado na PUC SP COS com uma pesquisa sobre a poesia-do-computador, tema que desenvolveu no Curso de Infopoesia do Prof. E. M. de Melo e Castro.

From Itu, State of São Paulo, Brazil, he is graduated in Portuguese and English Language and Literature, specialist in Portuguese and Brazilian Literature, and post-graduated (master degree) in Communication and Semiotics at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo), Brazil. He has been teaching Portuguese, English and Literature in high schools and colleges, and wrote "Almeida Junior through times" (1983) and "Colors, form, light, movement: the pictorial in the Cesário Verde's poetry" (1999, master dissertation). His constant dedication and interest in poetry lead him to his doctoral research on verbal and visual poetry to digital poetry, which was inspired by the work of the Portuguese poet Mello e Castro.
