The Laboratory of Cognition and Acoustic Analysis (LIAAC) has as its mission to develop experimental research in the areas of Phonetics and Phonology. In the projects developed by LIAAC´s researchers, based on acoustic-phonetic analysis, perceptual studies, and dynamic models, the complex relationships between speech production and perception in various contexts, among which L2 acquisition, hearing impairment, stylistics, oral discourse and language pathologies, are investigated.
